Attorney Grace Okorie-Eric brings more than 15 years of legal experience and a unique perspective shaped by her work as an attorney, real estate investor and licensed real estate broker. Her practice focuses on Illinois real estate transactions, immigration law and estate planning, giving clients experienced legal guidance at important moments involving their property, businesses, families and future.

Grace’s real estate practice is informed by more than legal knowledge alone. As a real estate investor since 2005 and a licensed real estate broker, she understands the transaction from multiple perspectives: the legal, financial and practical considerations that can affect a purchase, sale or investment. She represents homebuyers, sellers, real estate investors, real estate agents, businesses and organizations in residential and commercial real estate matters, including contract review and negotiation, attorney review, due diligence, title and closing. Her goal is to help clients understand their rights, identify potential issues and move through their transactions with confidence.

Her immigration practice is equally grounded in substantial experience. Earlier in her career, Grace worked with the U.S. Department of Labor, reviewing and analyzing H-2A, H-2B, H-1B and Labor Condition Applications for compliance with federal regulations. She subsequently practiced at a major Chicago law firm, where she prepared and filed hundreds of H-1B petitions and related applications with the Department of Labor and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Today, she represents individuals, families, professionals and businesses in a broad range of immigration matters.

Grace also helps clients protect and plan for what they are building through estate planning. Her approach recognizes that a home, investment property, business or other significant asset is not simply something to acquire, it is something to protect and eventually transfer. Her estate planning services help individuals and families consider wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other planning needs as part of a broader strategy for protecting their families and assets.

Grace earned her Juris Doctor from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly The John Marshall Law School). She is admitted to practice in Illinois and Indiana State bar and is active in professional and legal organizations including the Illinois State Bar Association, Cook County Bar Association (CCBA), Black Women Lawyers Association (BWLA), American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is also fluent in English, Yoruba and Igbo.
